Synopsis of True Confessions

The story takes place in Los Angeles, the United States in the 1960s. Tom (Robert Duvall) is a detective. One day, he went to visit his younger brother Des (Robert De Niro), a priest, which Tom did not expect. However, his younger brother is inextricably linked to an unsolved case that happened twenty years ago. In that case, the victim was a woman, and she seemed to have a very ambiguous relationship with Des. In order to prove his brother's innocence, Tom launched an investigation into the case, and soon a man named Jack (Charles Durning) surfaced. Today Jack is a construction contractor. Twenty years ago, he was the leader of the underworld. Tom's actions attracted Jack's attention, and Jack certainly wouldn't let it go.
