Synopsis of Brick

In southern California, high school student Brendan Frye (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) received a call from his ex-girlfriend Emily Costege (Emily Emiliede Ravin), two months after they broke up. She was not doing well and seemed to be facing great hardships. Over the next two days, Brendan searched for Emily, only to find her body. In order to find out the truth behind Emily's death, Brendan launched a persistent investigation. He searches for anyone and anything that may be related to Emily, and thus gets involved in a huge dark whirlpool... The film won the 2007 Austin Film Critics Association Best Picture Award, the 2007 Ohio Film Critics Association Outstanding Film and Best Original Screenplay Awards, the 2006 Chicago Film Critics Association Best New Director Award, and the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. Special Jury Prize.
