Synopsis of A Boy Called Po

When David Wilson's young wife fell ill with cancer, he was left a single, working dad with the sole responsibility of caring for his autistic son, who was in sixth grade. Patrick, who liked to be called "Po," was a gifted but challenged child who was close to his mother and unable to express his feelings of loss. As father and son struggle to cope with life after their mother's death, they each begin to retreat into their own worlds. David gets a stressful job that he almost loses, while Po leaves school, where he was bullied, and enters his magical world, the Land of Colored People. There he was just a typical carefree boy with many other worldly companions. The growing gulf between father and son and the challenges faced by a special needs single parent threaten to separate David and Pere forever. Based on a true story, the love between a grieving father and son is tested in the most authentic way possible.
