Synopsis of magala

A poor Congolese boy relied on his own efforts and walked into the jungle with an axe. With extraordinary will, he felled a big tree alone and made charcoal using local methods. He is not afraid of hard work. He dreams of living a better life and building a comfortable home for his wife and daughter. There was only one bicycle, loaded with heavy bags of charcoal. He pushed it on the road alone and traveled long distances, hoping to sell it at a good price in the town. The road journey is full of dangers and obstacles. Some people block the road to "close the place" and customers take advantage of the price. When people are cold-blooded, will a miracle happen if you pray to God? Jiaha, who is a photographer by training, uses excellent images and documentary vision to capture this period of life of selling charcoal at close range, which is like Sisyphus pushing a stone up a mountain. Won the Critics Week Award at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.
