When Trumpets Fade

When Trumpets Fade

Synopsis of When Trumpets Fade

This film produced by HBO is another realistic war film by "Hamburg Heights" director John Irvine. It is set in the bloody Battle of Horgan Forest during World War II. After the entire platoon of soldiers was annihilated by the enemy, the only surviving private, David Manning (played by Long Ed, "Comet on Earth", "Four Brothers"), was promoted to sergeant. Unable to withstand the pressure of leading new recruits, Manning Ning applied for retirement on the grounds of mental incompetence. However, Manning's commander (Martin Donovan, "Between Him and Them") made an offer to him as long as he led troops to capture a German outpost. Submit Manning's retirement application. But in a cruel and ruthless war, the important thing is not victory, but how to survive on the battlefield. When it comes to epic movies about World War II, "Saving Private Rain" and "Red Alert" may have grabbed the spotlight, but this movie is definitely one that cannot be missed and is by no means inferior to the best realistic war movies.
