Synopsis of The Pumpkin Eater
Joe (Anne Bancroft) is a poor woman who has a very difficult relationship. She has experienced two very failed marriages and has five children to raise. Under such circumstances, she met a man named Jack (Peter Finch). Once again, Joe fell in love, but what this relationship brought to Joe was not happiness and redemption. Instead, Joe fell into a deep depression from which he could not extricate himself. Joe was pregnant. Although she really wanted to give birth to the child, Jack strongly opposed it. In order to save the relationship that was on the verge of being broken, Joe reluctantly aborted the child. But even so, Joe couldn't stop Jack from leaving her step by step. Looking at the increasingly unfamiliar man in front of her, she didn't know where to go in the future.
